1st week of field expirence

I completed my first week of field expirence on Thursday, and it was very nice to be back in the field. It's been a few years for myself since I have been in a classroom and I have to say, I love being in the field. I always feel in-place and where I belong when I am teaching or working in the classroom. I feel comfortable and confident and it becomes a natural process for me to adapt to the classroom. It was fascinating to be in a current elementary classroom in a progressive education setting. The classroom had a smartboard, chromebooks, and a student microphone. I loved watching the smartboard lessons because my cooperating teacher is able to do her math and literacy lessons online because all of the lessons and assignments ( for all the different learning levels) are online and there are interactive activities for my teacher to utilize. I feel that this will make learning subjects like math and literacy ( which can be extremely difficult for some) easier to comprehend and teach. These are just some of my observations and feelings about my first week in field expirence.

  1. I totally agree with you, being back in the field is such a great feeling. I love being able to put everything we have been learning into action! Unlike your classroom, my classroom does not use as much technology as I was hoping to see. We have a Promethean board that is used for writing words and reading stories. We also have a few iPads that selected students use for reading or working on math.
